Description
NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE is a transfection agent specifically developed for delivery of siRNA into mammalian cell lines. With NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE high transfection efficiency is achieved with a minimal impact on cell viability. NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE consists of an iron oxide core which is coated with a specific cationic lipid formulation to facilitate siRNA binding and cellular uptake. The magnetic core offers the possibility of combined delivery and imaging, the nanoparticles can easily be visualized with MRI.
With NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE transfection reagent effective gene silencing is reached in a wide range of cell lines including suspension cells such as K562 and Jurkat, mesenchymal stem cells as well as adherent standard cell lines.
Knockdown Effects in 8 Hours
The human kidney cell line 786-O shows complete GAPDH knockdown in just 8 hours. Note that greater than 50% knockdown was observed within 4 hours after transfection. This is a unique feature of the NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE reagent.
Efficient Gene Silencing Across Cell Types
Figure1:Cells were transfected with siRNA targeting GAPDH using NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE transfection reagent. Knockdown was measured with real time PCR. The gene silencing efficiency was taken relative to cells treated with negative control siRNA.
NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE is easy and fast to use. Simply mix particles and siRNA, incubate 15- 20 min in room temperature and then add to cells. Read out your specific knockdown 24-48 hours post transfection. NIMT®FeOfection|PURPLE can be used with both forward and reverse transfection.
